3rd - 28th August 2016 Kat Corbet studied Fine Art in Germany and Austria (at the School of Art and Design Kassel with Urs Lüthi / the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Constanze Ruhm) and has been based at Gayfield Creative Spaces since September 2015. She delights in taking herself and others to the edge of their comfort zones by challenging and surprising participants with her interactive performances in unexpected contexts, blurring the boundaries between public and private. She most recently exhibited at the Hidden Door festival and the LeithLate Art Mart.
“As part of Gayfield’s annual ‘Making Well’ commission, I've set-up the institute for lighter living!™ (ill!™), Edinburgh's one-stop shop for the worst advice you’ll receive this year. This highly interactive one-to-one performance offers advice for handling all of life’s complex and seemingly insurmountable problems, no matter how big or small. In my role as Head of Change Management at ill!™, throughout August I'll be offering a series of comedy therapy sessions guaranteed to solve your personal problems permanently with outrageously bad advice. Each 15-minute session is tailor-made to your own specific needs, creating a dangerously safe space for you to delve into the depths of your innermost being to reveal what's really troubling you. Guaranteed to l!ghten up your life, this is the show where it's all about you”
